About us

The Kick n Paddle story started for Jenelle as a dream many years ago. Believe it or not, what started as a casual job quickly became a passion and a career. Jenelle’s family had a pool at home and made regular trips to the beach, encouraging a love for water at an early age. Jenelle progressed from basic water play as a child to swimming and then to water polo in her teens, and as a young adult she put her talent to use as a swim teacher.

Jenelle developed a passion for teaching children, which decided her choice of career and she was soon coordinating leading swim programs within the local pool. After many years and building on her career in aquatics, Jenelle found her way into the corporate world of education and training adults, leaving when it was time to start her own family.

After the arrival of her first child, Jenelle returned to the pool to gift her child with the same passion for water and an invaluable life skill. Seeing how happy she was in the pool with their child and their friends’ children, Jenelle’s husband encouraged her to return to her passion and share her skills with the local community. This prompted Jenelle and Todd to begin a franchised swim school, running a successful program until the opportunity presented itself to allow Jenelle to develop her own program and launch Kick n Paddle Swim Schools.

What started as a dream and opened with 80 students is today an asset to the local community, providing a quality private Learn to Swim program.
